1. Day 230–NH ice extent is at 6,041,625, a loss of 61% from max.
   The melting pace continues to be strong, nearly 0.15 M Km2 (1% of max) every two days.
   Continuing at that rate ends up below 5 M Km2 for the minimum.

   Those regions with below average melt:

   Central Arctic now is holding at 94% ice left
   Beaufort Sea is now at 69%
   Canadian Archipelago is now at 61%
   East Siberian Sea is down to 57%
