1. Unfortunately, Arctic ice is still declining, though not for much longer.

   Day 259: MASIE shows another loss of 34,000 Km2 for a new 2014 minimum of 5.18 M Km2, or 33.4% of March max. Melting was widespread with new 2014 minimums in most regions: Beaufort, Chukchi, East Siberian, Laptev, Canadian Archipelago, Central Arctic.

   MASIE extent is still higher than NOAA at 4.98 M Km2 on day 259.
