It appears the Arctic set a new record for lowest maximum on day 60. 38,000 sq km lower than 2015.

(However it is possible that could change)

Looking at MASIE, it appears that max occurred on day 61 at 15.09 M km2, matching the ten-year average, and 600k km2 higher than SII day 62 2016.
