I don’t see much of a chance that 2016 minimum extent will be anywhere close to 2012’s record low. In fact, it looks very similar to 2015’s tracking. With the waning El Niño and “Blob” in the Pacific, this should mean a stronger recovery in Arctic extent from where it is today.
