The “tradition” in some places is to use the last 30 year period ending on a 0 year. The CRU/Met still use 1961-1990 for most of their indexes. Cryosphere use 1979-2008 for some reason … The WMO says 30 years is climate. Reply
Thanks for that. I was just thinking that 2012 would lower the avg and then 2013 would be avg or posibly above,
Antarctic Sea Ice on Crysosphere is higher than mine because of the recent years being so high and their mean being 1979-2008,
Please tell me why the 1981-2010 average is used.
Why not 1981-2012?
