Antarctic Sea Ice Extent Is So High It May Set A Record For Highest Minimum of All Time

The Extent for day 10 is 1.48 million sq km above the 1981-2010 mean. And only 220,000 sq km below 2008.

The highest minimum was in 2008. Sea Ice only fell to 3.69 million sq km on day 51.

  1. The term “highest minimum” sounds kind of like “highest lowest”. Fair to say it’s not easily understandable. Perhaps the author could edit the article by adding an explanation and/or definition of “highest minimum”.

    Peace from Canada

  2. While this information is important to show that other factors control the weather and ice extend, it is still circumstantial evidence. The real question is does the Hypotheses of the greenhouse gas effect exist? Where is there a credible experiment/test that proves the Hypotheses? It’s like looking for the holly grail. Everyone wants to find it but no one wants to believe that it may not exist. True scientist should have been able to come up with an experiment in the last 190 years to prove the GHGE.
There are many sources that show that it does not exist, this is what should be examined and the information should be spread.

    1. It is also important to point out that NONE of the climate models have predicted this. All of the climate models are based on the hypothesis that changes in the CO2 level is the primary driver of climate change. This and other weather events are showing that natural variability is the dominant driver of climate change. The sun, the ocean temperature cylces and clouds all have significant impact on temperatures around the planet. Until the climate models can predict those, they won’t be able to predict the climate changes.

  3. Apparently, they have never applied linear regression and analysis of variants to determine what the driver(s) is/are. Given the destruction of data revealed in “ClimateGate”, the opportunity to analyze complete data sets may have been lost!
