Checkout http://weather.unisys.com/surface/sst_anom.gif . In the circumpolar current, there are massive cold spots [-5.0 C]. As the warm areas have the heat removed by the Polar Vortex [50 knot winds blowing 24/7], the cold spots will be free to create huge sea ice expansion. Remember, it is WINTER down there. Let’s see if I’m correct…
