Day 262: MASIE shows a sizeable loss of 46,000 Km2 for a new 2014 minimum of 5.07 M Km2, or 32.6% of March max. Melting was minimal, except in Central Arctic.
MASIE extent is now lower than NOAA at 5.10 M Km2 on day 262 (up from 2014 minimum of 4.98 on day 259). This is a strange and questionable result from MASIE, which typically shows several 100,000 more Km2 than NOAA.
