Global may be at the mean, Antarctic may be 800K above, and the Arctic near record lows for the date … but … the Arctic is freezing up thicker and thicker, which is good for retaining the ice cap at the North Pole.
Unless of course you’re an alarmist and merely point to the trend line of Arctic sea ice extent. Volume since 2011 is up ~30%. Modeling on that trend line will put Arctic sea ice volume at historically high levels by 2025.
Am I the only one that finds the contrast of 2014 being the “warmest year on record” and simultaneously another record Antarctic ice year, interesting? Of course AGW theory predicts all things, so this should come as no strange contradiction.
