  2. I will bet you this receives no media coverage as extent goes above average, but as soon as September’s peak melt shows a decline there will be endless rhetoric about the impending doom of polar bears and All Things Ice.

  3. The Arctic ice is doing so well in the last ~ 45 days that at the present pace it would reach the 1981-2010 mean in the next two weeks! It’d be too good to be true, though we can always hope, but anything above the minimums of 2013 and 14 will be a great step in the recovery of the normal ice extent.
