so funny, really smiling, 31st highest …. what will you write when the day of the lowest will come? “last highest” i mean if opinionated has a meaning that express it very well. and did you ever consider that melt-water which is sweet-water freezes much earlier and that salinity may play a role in the growing extent, while volume vor the entire antarctic region is shrinking constantly? ok i’ll not break loose the big discussion here, it’s even good that different opinions exist because the keep mind and eyes open for other viewing angles, but please try to stay with facts as well when it comes to semantics and wording. everything else is just opposition for the sake of opposition which is helping nothing and nobody.

Have you considered that the Antarctic ice edge can be 1500km from the land? How does that meltwater get to that ice edge? Especially when it is -16C to -70C …. http://www.wunderground.com/weather-forecast/Antarctica.html
