Hi–Have a good one—might have a story for you. For a long time, authoritarians have shown considerable audacity in thinking they can “manage” the economy. More recently, they really believe they can “manage” the climate. God-like audacity. The next credit contraction is close to starting. With this the public will look at how much they as taxpayers are on the hook for failed bailouts. Once past El Nino, resumption in cooling will get the public’s commonsense going. The issue will be the nonsense that increases in taxation and regulation can alter climate history.
