  1. I have a question. If you go to this web site, ftp://sidads.colorado.edu/DATASETS/NOAA/G02186/latest/4km/masie_all_r00_4km.png you will see that they are claiming 10.9 million sq km of arctic ice. Look at the bottom left corner. What gives?

  4. That’s about a 6% difference. Which method is correct, or more likely to be correct?

    • Depends on the time of year etc. Some methodologies claim to be more accurate during melt season.
