I follow this and the Real Science blog avidly. An engineer buddy told me of glacier shortening, then gave me this NASA link: http://climate.nasa.gov/climate_resources/4/
My question is, is it rigged? Were both taken in August? Did something like a power plant or city spring up in those 63 years and has the Muir glacier refrozen since 2004?

Its been retreating since the 1760s as the map at the bottom of the article shows.
