Sea Ice Extent (Global Antarctic and Arctic) – Day 38 – 2017

If Antarctic continues the way it has, Day 37 would be the record for earliest minimum.

1994 is the current record holder on day 43.

1997 is the record holder for lowest minimum – 121,000 sq km below 2017 (which is 5th lowest so far).

  4. Nope. That was just a plateau. It looks like the Antarctic ice extent was still going down as of February 13th.
