Oscillations.
The following graph is just for day 46 back to 1979. The interesting thing is how the oscillation from high to low is increasing in amplitude.

The oscillation cycle is intriguing. This has occurred during a period of global warming (followed by a period of continuing global warmth – the pause). One wonders if during the 1945-late 1970’s period of global cooling, if the oscillation cycle began with wide oscillations and trended downward to where this one picked up and reversed?
That would be my theory.
