I hadn’t noticed, but Antarctica on day 281 to 285 was back within one standard deviation for the first time in 1.5 months.

There’s the potential for the Antarctic extent to continue to press on closer to the long-term median because of stories like this which would only require a change in winds to further spread out the ice:
