Electric cars will increase that number in a few years. Model 3 will help a lot with that, Tesla is increasing production next years very seriuosly. We all hope they do so. China is increasing so fast solar energy and electric cars also. Next years will be very important for all this.
Maybe Canada is not a good country for solar energy but most of the countries are. Much more solar and wind energy + much more electric cars = much less fuel energy

Electric cars consume electricity. They don’t generate it.
But electric cars don’t consume fuel if electricity is made with nuclear or renovable energy.
