Interesting – seems that there is a trend in the Arctic sea ice extent reaching it’s max a little bit later in the season this year. Looks (by eye) to be around day 74-74 – so far – this year. One more little bump up, would put it even later.
Gary, I’ve been noticing the trend for some time now as well. Maximum extent seems to extend later and later with a more rapid drop to minimum, and a rebound trend starting later as well. One has to wonder what such a trend portends and whether or not one good global disaster (i.e. volcanic eruption) pushes that to a place where it hasn’t been before.
