Wait! What? 26% of Nitrogen Comes From Rocks! They didn’t Know That!
Wait! What?
They didn’t know where all the nitrogen came from?
“For centuries, the prevailing science has indicated that all of the nitrogen on Earth available to plants comes from the atmosphere. But a study from the University of California, Davis, indicates that more than a quarter comes from Earth’s bedrock.
The study, to be published April 6 in the journal Science, found that up to 26 percent of the nitrogen in natural ecosystems is sourced from rocks, with the remaining fraction from the atmosphere.
Before this study, the input of this nitrogen to the global land system was unknown. The discovery could greatly improve climate change projections, which rely on understanding the carbon cycle. This newly identified source of nitrogen could also feed the carbon cycle on land, allowing ecosystems to pull more emissions out of the atmosphere, the authors said.”

Big increase is Antarctic Snowfall
“When scientists looked at Antarctic snowfall over the past 200 years they found a “significant” increase, up to 10%.
In the decade 2001-2010, some 272 billion tons more snow fell on Antarctica per year compared with the decade 1801-1810.
This extra amount of snow is equivalent to twice the water volume of the Dead Sea, on a per year basis.”

More CO2 is Producing Larger trees and Faster-Growing Forests
The original quote was “global warming is producing larger trees and faster-growing forests.”
But by “global warming” they really mean CO2.

CO2 ppm Effect Is Tuckered Out

“Carbon dioxide’s logarithmic heating effect is weak at 100 ppm, tuckered out well and truly at 200 ppm and beyond 300 ppm – well never mind. We are now above 400 ppm from which it is a monotonic 0.1°C for each 100 ppm increase. That doesn’t explain anything and in turn leaves the Sun as the only possible causative agent for the Modern Warm Period.”
