A quick update for sea ice extent:
- Global Sea Ice is only 77,000 sq km below the 1981-2010 mean. That is 0.4% below the mean. Global Sea Ice has been within one standard deviation of the 1981-2010 mean since July 25 2013
- Antarctic Sea Ice is 704,000 sq km above the 1981-2010 mean. That is 22.9% above the mean. Day 51 was the 4th highest minimum. Nov 20 2011 was the last time Antarctic Sea Ice was below one standard deviation.
- Arctic Sea Ice is 781,000 sq km below the 1981-2010 mean. That is 5% below the mean .

When the 10.7cm flux drops to 120-140 sfu and the Sun is in the Northern Hemisphere, expect the Antarctic Sea Ice growth to explode.
The Arctic Sea Ice extent is down, but the average thickness is up and climbing. If Flux drops, and stays down, expect the Arctic to not melt as much during the summer.
If the Flux drops, expect the Global Sea Ice extent anomaly to go way positive.
