RSS – Satellite Temperatures Back to Where they Were Before El Nino

RSS is one of the two satellite temperature data sets. They show the EL Nino “peak”.

I wonder how far the La Nina will drop?

  1. The Nino 3.4 index has been below – 0.5 C since August. A new La Nina should start officially (5+ months in a row below -0.5 C) in December,

Also, oceans are cold almost everywhere,

I don’t understand why the polar icecaps are so low. Perhaps a period of adaptation after the El Nino.
