Antarctic Sea Ice Extent Update – 2nd Highest Ever To Date

As of day 167, Antarctic Sea Ice Extent is the 2nd Highest Ever to Date. About 740,000 sq km above the 1981-2010 mean.

2013 is only 80,000 sq km below 2010’s record setting pace at this time of year.

2013 has been near the top (and at the top a few times) for almost the whole year.

Antarctic Sea Ice Extent Set A New Daily Record on May 20

After setting 8 daily Antarctic Sea Ice Extent records earlier in the year, 2013 stayed near the top in 2nd, 3rd and 4th place until day 140 (May 20).

Another daily record was set yesterday breaking the old record set in 2000 by 66,000 sq km. 2013 is now in 6th place for daily records set.

Antarctic Sea Ice Day 121 Update

As you  know, Antarctic Sea Ice Extent hit a maximum record in September 2012. And since that news item finally received a little bit of publicity the AGW cult has come up with a few explanations for why ice is growing in the Antarctic.

For the heck of it I thought I would graph Antarctic Sea Ice Extent for the 121st day of each year. After I did that I had one obvious question.

Why, if Antarctic Sea Ice has been growing for 30 years, has it taken them so damned long to even admit it, let alone come up with such a weak-ass explanation that all sane people laugh at?

Antarctic Sea Ice Extent Update – 2013 is the 2nd Highest Average Of All Time (So Far)

Update: This post has been updated to include 2011 which is was missing (due to dumbness on my part).

Antarctic Sea Ice Extent 2013 is the 2nd highest average to the same day (115)

2008 is still well out in front.

Antarctic Sea Ice Extent Daily Records Count

Now that 2013 Antarctic Sea Ice Extent has broken the 8th daily record, I thought I would post the updated scoreboard.

2013 has a long, long way to go to break 2010s totals or 2008.  If there were scientists at NSIDC and the MSM instead of propagandists 2008 and 2010 would have made great stories.

Don’t 1998, 1980 and 1979 look so lonely at the bottom of the list?

8th Antarctic Sea Ice Extent Daily Record For 2013 – 5th in a row

Day 73 (March 14) had Antarctic Sea Ice Extent set its 8th daily record – the 5th in a row.

2013 broke the old record from 2008 by 32,420 sq km.  2008 had broken the previous record (2001) by 240,070 sq km.

2008 was an amazing year for Antarctic Sea Ice. Did you know that on day 1 in 2008, the old record was broken by 1,391,120 sq km which had occurred in 1996?

Too bad the NSIDC “scientists” ignore Antarctica. It would have made a great story.

Antarctic Sea Ice Extent – 6th daily record for 2013

Day 71 in the Antarctic was another daily record for Sea Ice Extent (most ice on this day). That makes 6 for 2013 (corrected from 2003 typo).  And the 3rd day in a row.

There are only 7 days where a daily record exists from before 2000. 345 records are from 2006 to 2013.

NSIDC has a dedicated page to Arctic Sea Ice.  And one for Greenland. But no page dedicated to the Antarctic. That makes them propagandists, not scientists.
