Using Tmax, 2014 was 2.41F Colder Than December 1934 and 3.34F colder than December 2012.
Using Tmax, December 2014 was 3.15F Colder Than December 1939.
Even December 1896 was warmer than December 2014. Warm Decembers are pretty spread out over the last 120 years.

Is that an honest summary of what is happening in Antarctica?
There is no sign of a rapid decline in Antarctic Sea Ice Extent. Records are still being smashed.
Serial spammer David A keeps asking why I am not mentioning that the Arctic set one daily record low by a small amount?
Its a simple two-part answer.
1) I do post the Arctic data.
2) But I emphasize the Antarctic and Global Records because the organizations with billions in funding DO NOT!

Every once in a while I visit the data for the weather station closest to my hometown on the west coast of Canada. The data only starts in the late 1940s so there is no extreme’s from the 1930s and 1940s.
The three graphs below have the Tmin and Tmax data from the Environment Canada monthly reports up to the end of 2014.
The three start in 2010, 1998 and 1980. What does the data tell you?
If you start in 2010 … we are going to bake to death.
If you start in 1998 … we are slowly cooling.
If you start in 1980 the Tmin is climbing and the Tmax is dropping. UHI probably.
