Nanaimo Tmin and Tmax from 1980/1998/2010
Update: From 1948 added at bottom
Every once in a while I visit the data for the weather station closest to my hometown on the west coast of Canada. The data only starts in the late 1940s so there is no extreme’s from the 1930s and 1940s.
The three graphs below have the Tmin and Tmax data from the Environment Canada monthly reports up to the end of 2014.
The three start in 2010, 1998 and 1980. What does the data tell you?
If you start in 2010 … we are going to bake to death.
If you start in 1998 … we are slowly cooling.
If you start in 1980 the Tmin is climbing and the Tmax is dropping. UHI probably.
China Has Produced More Cement in 3 Years Than The USA Did in 100 Years – And Still No Warming
Cement productions is supposed to be a serious component of “global warming”.
Yet China has produced more cement from 2011-2013 than the USA did from 1901 to 2000.
And warming STILL hasn’t occurred.
Mastodons Killed By Climate Change: They Froze To Death
“Despite popular belief that North American mastodons were hunted to extinction by Ice Age humans, a new Canadian-led study is claiming that the prehistoric beasts simply froze to death.
“To think of scattered populations of Ice Age people with primitive technology driving huge animals to extinction, to me is almost silly,” said Grant Zazula, chief paleontologist for the Yukon Territory and the study’s lead author.
What the research found was that mastodons died out in the Yukon and Alaska long before humans were even on the scene. Not only that, but northern mastodons died out a full 65,000 years before their cousins in warmer climes to the south.”

They say Alpine goats now weigh about 25 per cent less than animals of the same age in the 1980s.”

However, lets get to the important line:
The team delved into long-term records of Chamois body weights provided by hunters in the Italian Alps.
Wait!
Hunters have been shooting the goats? And the “scientists” have been in fact measuring only the dead goats? Well. Not measuring. Passing on the claims of hunters.
Could it be the hunters have been shooting the bigger and slower goats?
Resulting in smaller goats being the survivors?
I wonder how many are being hunted?
“There are also concerns about the relative over-harvesting of older males (e.g. Zeiler et al., 1990, 1992). Although not threatened overall in Germany, the small sub-alpine populations are vulnerable to poaching and stochastic events, and possibly to inbreeding depression. Disturbance acts as a major threat to small populations and has caused declines in some. Unless steps are taken to reverse this threat, declines will continue and most small populations are on the verge of extinction. Even large populations face threats. Numbers in the Bavarian Alps are currently decreasing due to sharply increased harvest rates. Tourist development has also affected many subpopulations negatively (e.g., disturbance, habitat isolation). In Italy, competition with introduced mouflon may cause problems for Alpine chamois in some parts of its range.”

Global Warming Explained
Europe To Burn Dirty Filthy Lignite Instead of Clean Fracked Natural Gas (or Nuclear)
Green fanatics have worked really, really hard to prevent fracking in Europe. And to shut down nuclear power plants.
So what happens? A huge number of lignite power plants are being built. Lignite is filthy coal. High CO2 coal. Lignite produces 80% more CO2 per kWh than natural gas.
Stupid Green Policies have consequences.
“Lignite – also known as brown coal – power stations currently make up more than 10% of the EU’s total CO2 emissions. Greenpeace said that if Europe is to continue to play its part in keeping the world within the internationally accepted limit of 2C of warming, 90% of the carbon contained in its lignite reserves must remain buried.
Despite this, lignite-fuelled power stations are still being built, locking in consumption of the fuel for decades. There are 19 such facilities in various stages of approval, planning or construction in Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Greece, Germany, Poland, Romania and Slovenia. Greenpeace figures show these new projects alone would emit almost 120m tonnes of CO2 every year – equivalent to three-quarters of the annual carbon output of the UK’s energy sector. The average lifespan for a coal power station is about 40 years, meaning the plants could release nearly 5bn tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere.”

Indian Village Demands Real Electricity, Not Solar Gimmick
This is very funny:
“Former Chief minister met by village youngsters carrying placards demanding “real source of energy”, and “not the fake solar powered” one.
The least you would expect when you bring electricity to an entire village, ending over three decades of darkness, is a ‘thank you’ from its residents. But no such niceties here in Dharnai, a nondescript village tucked away in the Naxal heartland of Bihar.
The residents of Dharnai are far from satisfied to see lights for the first time in 33 years, courtesy a solar-powered micro-grid set up by the environment watchdog Greenpeace India. They now want asli bijli (real electricity) from the government.”
